Xiaomi and Polyphony Digital have officially announced a partnership at Round One of the 2025 Gran Turismo World Series. Through this collaboration, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will be introduced to Gran Turismo 7 for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. This marks the first time a Xiaomi vehicle will appear in the long-running racing simulator franchise.

In May 2025, Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi visited Xiaomi Group’s headquarters in Beijing, where he met with Xiaomi Founder, Chairman, and CEO Lei Jun. During the visit, Yamauchi test drove the SU7 Ultra and toured Xiaomi’s electric vehicle factory in Yizhuang.

During the announcement event, Yamauchi noted the performance capabilities of the SU7 Ultra, referencing its track time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife as a testament to the company’s engineering efforts.

Launched in 2024, the SU7 is Xiaomi’s first entry into the electric vehicle market. The SU7 Ultra is the top-tier model, featuring Xiaomi’s proprietary HyperEngine V8s tri-motor system, which delivers 1,548 PS, a top speed of over 350 km/h, and 0–100 km/h acceleration in just 1.98 seconds. The vehicle currently holds multiple track records for four-door cars.

The car incorporates extensive use of carbon fiber components, covering up to 5.5 square meters, to enhance performance and reduce weight. Xiaomi’s R&D team developed and tested features such as torque vectoring and adaptive damping at several international circuits, including the Nürburgring.

According to Xiaomi, the company conducts extended on-site development at high-performance tracks to refine vehicle dynamics and safety. These learnings are applied to production models to bridge the gap between race performance and road use.

Zhoucan Ren, Chief Test Driver and Head of Vehicle Dynamics Development at Xiaomi EV, stated that the team will continue testing at the Nürburgring to enhance performance in future models.

The SU7 Ultra will be added to Gran Turismo 7 through a co-development effort between Xiaomi and Polyphony Digital, with attention to detail in both design and driving physics. The two companies also announced plans to work on a future project: the Xiaomi VISION GRAN TURISMO concept vehicle.
